About Loviisa nuclear power plant

Loviisa nuclear power plant is located on Hästholmen island in Loviisa, eastern Uusimaa, and is operated by Fortum. Its two Soviet-designed VVER-440 pressurized water reactors were commissioned in 1977 and 1980 and deliver about 507 MW each – together roughly ten percent of Finland's electricity. In February 2023 Loviisa was granted an operating licence until the end of 2050.
