Nuclear power in Sweden

Nuclear power supplies roughly 30 percent of Sweden's electricity and, together with hydropower, forms the backbone of the Swedish power system. The six reactors have a combined capacity of about 7,000 MW and deliver dispatchable baseload power year-round, primarily to southern and central Sweden where demand is highest.

At its peak Sweden operated twelve reactors. Barsebäck 1 and 2, Oskarshamn 1 and 2, and Ringhals 1 and 2 have been shut down, the most recent in 2020.
